Manufactured in Australia using a unique polyester fabric, Roman Blinds will filter the harsh Australian sun and create an unsurpassed air and light flow working to minimize harmful summer sun radiation and maximize heat retention during winter.
Fabric
Roman Blinds from Dial a Blind are manufactured using a durable polyester cotton fabric available in either translucent, sheer or blockout ranges. It has been specially treated to eliminate fraying and sanitised to protect against mildew and bacterial attack, making it suitable for high humidity areas. Translucent fabrics will create a soft light and wonderful atmosphere whilst filtering out the glare and harmful ultra violet rays. Block out fabrics are available with a tough Veltex suede backing for day and night privacy and complete light control. This will also absorb and repel the heat, making them suitable all year round.
Batons
Divisions in our Roman Blinds are made using non-visible batons manufactured from extruded aluminium to add proven stability and weight. Coupled with clip on rings for easy alignment and functioning of the lift cords, custom-made caps are also used which ensure the batons and fabric stay well balance.
Mechanisms
A traditional Roman Blind system is followed by way of a simple draw cord pulled by hand, easily lifting the blind in equal stages. The mechanism is made from corrosion resistant alloy containing low friction coefficients and great strength, ensuring smooth, quiet and long life operation. A 3mm high strength draw cord is used to lift the blind, which is UV and fade resistant.
Maintenance & Care
We at Dial a Blind believe that blinds should be treated like a piece of furniture rather than just another window covering, and the required maintenance for Roman blinds depends highly on the care and attention given during the blind's life cycle. The beauty of Roman Blinds is their natural resistance to dust due to their vertical hanging position and stack up gathering. However, because our fabric has been treated with Scotchguard® fabric protector, cleaning can be as simple as a light vacuuming and sponging with warm water and a mild household cleaner. 3M Scotchguard® cleaner is also recommended.
